The most 'out there' NYFW looks we'd love to wear

If you're feeling bored at work, this is the perfect week to get on the fashion news. New York Fashion Week is revealing some incredible creativity from the world's top designers. Here are some of the most outrageous pieces we'd definitely wear...

Tomo Koizumi

Koizumi's models look like the kind of pom pom accessories you get for a baby shower and we LOVE IT.

In an interview with Vogue, the Tokyo-based designer described his outfits as "ruffle armour for girls", whichis a perfect description.

If we were celebrities, we'd be getting in touch with Koizumi right now for our next event outfit. Here on the streets of Manchester, however, we'd probably get some strange looks.

Prabal Gurung

This was another show-stopper of a collection from designer Prabel Gurung. There was loads of variety within it, from bold block colours to dramatic red-carpet style dresses and pieces with lots of different contrasting but somehow complementary textures.

Our favourite outfit among the more off-the-wall pieces was this minidress, which made the model look like a beautiful multi-coloured sea urchin. Or a colourful car wash roller. The bow around the waist gave some shape to the look. 10/10 from us.

Kate Spade

Not usually known as one of the zanier brands, Kate Spade's runway show this year was full of very bold and very beautiful pieces. A mix of violets, pinks and blues, with a touch of animal print here and there, made this show a success.

Our favourite piece was this frankly fantastic parma violet look with its beautiful purple animal print coat. We're also a fan of high-waisted trousers, so this outfit is a winner in our books.
